By just my opinion
I bought last week after reading a lot of reviews on various netbooks. I wanted something lightweight, rugged and reliable for traveling, especially by air. I have a laptop portable enough already, but it seems that every ounce plus it looks really heavy walking through airports, NYC, etc. I also like the idea of being able to carry a light car to public places, where can I find a little ‘Work carried out without the need to bring a laptop, power cord, etc.
I was a bit ‘worried that a netbook would not be’ enough ‘, but so far has been outstanding!
Netbook this particular look is much more beautiful and seemingly stronger than anything I’ve seen in local shops. Even if the screen is advertised as ‘lucid’ is not too well and looks nothing like the HP and Asus ‘glossy’ screens. The keyboard is fantastic and the construction in track pad works really well. Battery life was very good – I got closer to 8 hours the first time that I charged. This netbook is easy to type and has rounded edges. The speakers are decent and certainly sounds better than many other netbooks on the market.
I recently loaded Office 2007 – works fine. I also have a pre-loaded software-installed McAfee, be replaced with AVG and that was a good decision – things are much faster without McAfee. I plan to upgrade to 2 GB of RAM, but now everything works fine with the installation 1 GB.
A netbook, although you probably will not ever replace my laptop, is perfect for the times I want / need access to a computer for internet, email and word processing / office type work. The convenience of being able to take this very portable, lightweight machine with me is a real prize!
Although this netbook is a bit ‘more expensive than some others on the market, I think it’s worth the extra money.

I bought a Samsung NC10 a few months ago and still love him. My wife and I travel around the world every year for business and pleasure, and after observing my NC10, as I used our last trip, was sold on it and decided to let me order one for you. So I decided that it may as well try one of the newer versions. I chose the N120, especially for track pad and the size of the keyboard, and speakers presumably better.
Well, it arrived yesterday (5/14/09), and after the battery and playing with it for a few hours we decided to come back and buy another NC10. If I had never had a NC10 for comparison, perhaps this would be good, but compared side by side, I heard the N120 was slightly lower.
The first thing was to me (I’m picky about screens) is that the screen was not so easy to read as the opaque screen of NC10. I observed the same photos on each computer, and I felt the colors were not as precise nor as readable as the screen NC10’s. It ‘was quite brilliant, but that would get the impression from looking at both side by side is that the opaque screen of NC10 was overall a little’ brighter and easier to see, especially off-axis. When I brought the 2 netbooks to try them out on the back porch, it was over. The glossy screen N120 has made it almost impossible to see what was happening, like the sky and trees reflected in the screen, while the NC10 opaque screen was completely readable and usable. Moreover, as I continued to watch both, I kept thinking that the N120 screen is somewhat smaller, so I pulled out a meter and sure enough, the screen of NC10 was 1 / 4 “higher than the 120, and were both the same width. One thing that is missing a netbook is the height of the screen, and though it was only a quarter of an inch, that was enough, combined with the delivery of less than bright colors and the screen, to put this in the box and send it back to Amazon. Of course this is subjective and YMMV for what you like in a screen.
The positive aspects are that the N120 is still so constructed as the NC10 has a nicer look with rounded corners and looks slightly thinner, slightly larger than the size of the keys and track pad are desirable. However, my wife had no problem with my keyboard NC10 and use a mouse to travel in any case so the size of the track pad was not a problem for her.
Further observations by the geeky tweaks that are:
They are always very concerned about the signal strength of Wi-Fi in my notebook, because we often travel and hotel wifi signals are often so poor that every last bit of signal strength can provide a laptop is like gold for me. Nothing worse than sitting next to your friend and he is surfing the net, while your laptop you can not even get a signal. So even if you should try some experiments, while I had both. I tried different locations around the house, with both computers to see if one of them had an advantage of signal strength wifi. If this was certainly not a perfect scientific test, I noticed in any other position that the NC10 collected at least 1 more connection local to the N120. The signal strength of each connection was to be the same or a higher bar for the NC10. Do not cry, but it was a bit ‘in favor of NC10.
Then I tried the speakers. Well the difference, to my dismay, there was so little in terms of quality between the 2 netbooks that I would never chose the N120 on NC10 for the sound alone, even though both were the same in every other way. Negligible. Yes, the N120 had an ending a bit ‘richer fund, but believe me, the amount was very slight “light”. Both were almost equal in output volume. Subwoofer that “say it is N120 is a joke. Please do not buy this expecting really great sound from the speakers supplied. E ‘for use in a bit of music and completely usable for Skype, but that’s it. If you want play well on the road, connect your headphones or buy one of those portable speakers FoxL on Amazon.
I hope all this will be usable to those agonizing over which Samsung Netbook for purchase. I know that I would have loved to have read the comments of some of these while I was trying to figure out if I just have to find another NC10, the N110, or N120. Now I know. The screen is better than the NC10 and the plus of N120 are denied by the things I mentioned.

Okay my N120 arrived earlier. The keyboard is freaking AWESOME! The trackpad / buttons are about the same size as the SE NC10 and N110. I found the buttons raised much easier to use than those of the NC10 that is a kind of level or perhaps even sunk a little. The specifications in terms of width of the case is practically the same as the NC10. The case itself is opaque outside and inside the palm rest, etc. (Yeah no more fingerprints) The display is glossy, but in reality is not as clear as I expected. I had one of my staff, which has the Acer Aspire One came to my office with her and both of us were shocked by how much more polished and reflecting his was compared to the Samsung N120. Now, this does not mean that is not going to have some reflection and glare, it will be, if the display is so bright that for me personally it is entirely within an acceptable limit. In a side by side comparison … (sorry I do not have my camera at work), sitting in front, is that Acer has been more lucid. given a choice, we would have preferred a matte screen too!
The beveled or rounded edge along the front of the palm rest is very comfortable and it seems there is a rest area in reality much more than the palm NC10.
I logged on to Pandora and played a few songs because, of course, I wanted to make sure that subwoofer. hehehe. Seems to be basically a little ‘bigger speaker on the front left, together with the 1.5-watt speakers into the frame around the display. The book shows only 25 percent was very strong and when turned all the way is very strong. Acer, which in comparison is very, very weak because it is the NC10. I was surprised that the subwoofer seems to give much more depth and clarity. I am very, very happy with the sound. No, you’re not going to get any bass pounding, but it certainly adds a dimension to the sound that is simply not exist on other netbooks. You can also adjust how I initially found the sound very metallic, but was able to raise it up with some lower level outside.
The frame around the display is not enough, but I do not mind having the speakers on each side is a plus in my book.
I did do a little ‘comparison between the N120 and NC10 SE. I can tell you that the width of the essay N120 is about half an inch wider, but more or less the same in all other demensions. The track / mouse pad is a bit ‘bigger.
Another thing I noticed is that Samsung now includes a battery extender as professional notebooks from Lenovo. This allows you to pay only the batter to about 80% if you intend to use it on AC a lot. Although the idea of a netbook is to take away away from AC power. Yet I think it’s cool that you added this and, of course, the NC10 does not support this.
I think the N120 is a great netbook and it’s really not much bigger than all other 10 “netbooks Diplay, weighs about the same and something less, does not have a full size keyboard killer
