I bought this computer mainly for surfing the Internet and do other minor operations, listen to music, create documents, watch TV and videos, etc. I have not done any work on intensive programs yet (I only had a couple of days). I was going to play with it for a while ‘before you decide to upgrade to 2GB RAM. So far so good. I have not had any vibration or excessive noise on HD the other reviewer had. The battery life is phenomenal. I can not believe that I can use a laptop computer this long and should not be plugged in.My only complaint is that Windows 7 Starter is installed. I’ve heard great things about “7″ and could not wait to try it. For those who love to play with the settings, configurations and stuff, the starter edition is not the way to go. You can not even change your desktop Windows Logo boring. Do not think to review the Starter Edition of Windows 7 before buying. I might need to spend extra money upgrade to the Home Edition. If you intend to buy this laptop to make sure that Windows 7 Starter is for you.All in all very happy with the netbook and will serve my purposes beautifully, just that I looked at Windows 7.

Asus has nearly perfected the PC netbook. The size and ergonomics of this keyboard are bar none the best among netbooks today. Touchpad range has the right level of sensitivity so. And Windows 7, even with the entry level Starter Edition, offers the processing much faster and the boot time of Windows XP on an Intel Atom N270.
However, the Asus Eee 1005HA has its Achilles heel in mechanical design. The 250GB hard drive is damped vibrations which pass around the frame and directly into your wrists. The fan runs too. The combination generates high levels of noise and vibration compared to similar netbooks like the Acer Aspire One D250. Moreover, even without the Anti-Virus software running, Windows 7 and the software preloaded consume 40% of 1 GB of memory available.
Asus will undoubtedly be working out The Kinks in this netbook, but many users will find the vibration and noise levels unacceptable, especially when other vendors offer netbooks without these concerns. Once Asus releases a heat-cool, vibration-free version with 2GB of DDR2 memory, this netbook will be unstoppable.
Update: After exchanging 1005HA Secondly, it has the exact same vibration problems. This endemic, rather than one off dud.

I bought this computer a couple of weeks ago, upgraded to Windows 7 Home, and I take it with me everywhere. E ‘ideal for taking notes in class (I am a college student), and so small I can fit in my bag. I do not think the size makes it difficult to use for everyone. As a matter of fact, out of all the computers I’ve owned or used in my life, I find this the simplest kind to with the utmost accuracy. It ‘a great computer for internet and word processing. I would recommend to anyone!
